UK consumer price index rose 2.4 percent year-on-year in October, same as in September, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed on Wednesday. Inflation peaked at 3.1 percent in October 2017, much above the Bank of England's 2 percent target. On a month-on-month basis, the CPI edged up 0.1 percent in October.
