Ukraine's grain exports have risen to 25.7 million tonnes so far in the 2018/19 season as of Jan. 16, from 22.1 million tonnes at the same point in the previous season, the agriculture ministry said on Wednesday. Ukraine has said it harvested a record 70.1 million tonnes of grain last year from 61.3 million in 2017. The ministry said exports could rise to 47.2 million tonnes in the July 2018 to June 2019 season from 39.4 million the season before. The ministry said Ukraine had already exported almost 10.8 million tonnes of corn compared with 6.6 million tonnes in the same period last season, while wheat shipments fell to 11.1 million tonnes from around 11.6 million.
